Senior Java Engineer
Katharion is seeking a highly talented Senior Java Engineer to join a growing development team. The Senior Java Engineer will be a key contributor to the introduction of the company's planned new service offerings and to the ongoing development of the company's existing software. The Senior Java Engineer will be responsible for development work related to the company's complex, high transaction, mission-critical SMTP application and associated web application. The environment is fast-paced but the company is committed to producing high quality, highly reliable managed service solutions for its customers.
Requirements
The candidate should have substantial experience in Java-based server-side multi-tiered application development, along with a history of substantial contributions to projects involving high availability, mission-critical software.
The candidate should have the following background and skills:
- 7+ years in software development, with at least four years using Java EE related technologies
- Solid expertise in server-side Java including J2EE and web services
- Substantial experience with JSP and servlet development
- Demonstrable experience in developing high volume and highly reliable mission critical systems
- Strong knowledge of MySQL and database design principles for high transaction environments
- Significant experience with Linux
- Experience with established agile software development methodologies and with test-driven development
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong communication skills

Experience with SMTP, MINA, Hadoop, and/or LDAP also helpful
